(±)2-Acetyl-Anatoxin is an alkaloidal toxin produced by the filamentous freshwater cyanophyte Anabaena flos-aquae.  This compound is the synthetic version.

Application Notes:(±)-Anatoxin is a potent agonist at neuronal nicotinic acetylcholine receptors. At low concentrations (20-200nM) it acts as an agonist. At higher concentrations (>800nM), it blocks the AChR ion channel, desensitizes the receptor and blocks neuromuscular transmission.
